Hi folks,
Not been around much recently as being playing Tera with Khaimae and Rosh on the Samael server, lovely game very Korean graphically but better done than Aion. Targetting system is awesome as you actually have to hit the mobs... AND the person you want to heal which makes raiding VERY interesting lol
SWToR dried up and went incredibly quiet so I got D3 and Tera, cancelled my SW account completed D3 within a couple of days and thats now lost its appeal, but after seeing lots of chat in Tera about ‘The Secret World’ after some looking into it, I have taken the plunge and pre-ordered it. Release date is 3rd July 2012.
Anyway I was wondering if anyone else had signed up for The Secret World by Funcom?
Its a game set in the present day with H.P Lovecraft, rolled in with the tv shows ‘The Walking Dead’ (zombies) and ‘Grimm’ (after Grimm fairy tales) with The Davinci Code as an overall feel. They have got rid of ‘levels’ and classes, you just gain XP from the usual sources and put points into any skills you want, swords, magical powers, gun use, alsorts... I guess you cant remove the levelling element entirely
It looks very interesting, with loads of investigation quests – and I mean full on investigation and ciphers to work out – the intro quest took me 2 hours to work out using google and various Wiki sites! LOL
Just looks very cleverly done and is certainly attracting me as a change/replacement to WoW.
Will update this post when i have had a good play on it (Templars FTW!).
Speak soon,
Graham. |

Had open beta last weekend and to be honest... it was fantastic (IMHO anyway).
Some fantastic quests (even an in game REAL web browser is available for research on the tougher investigation quests!!), nice 'feel' to the scenery, buildings, game play...
Mobs have a great AI... and damn they are fast! The sea monsters (Lovecraft-esq things) have 'Lords' that create egg bearers who wonder ashore dropping their load, which then hatch into the spiky bashy ones who then protect the remaining eggs, so you can infact wipe out the 'species' which will stay unspawned until a new lord arrives... clever
Last weekend was the release of the first two opening dungeons which i have to say I was wondering around so much i only got to grab the quests for them! There is no dungeon finder which could be a bonus depending how busy the game stays to promote people actually chatting to each other...
This weekend is the release of the PvP areas which looks interesting!
Anyway, had masses of fun and its well worth checking out
Cya soon! |
