Hi everyone, i was helping some new players out earlier today
one was a priest, he asked me about professions
but with me being the n00b i am and only having played with a paladin and a warlock
i didn't know what to recommend to him
i asked one chap, he said to take leatherworking and enchantment
would that be a good combination for a priest?
also talking about professions, whats good for a warlock
i aint put any professions on mine yet
thanks

It all comes down to preference really.
I have just made a priest lvl 1 at the moment haha and I will be doing tailoring and enchanting. Just so I can make my own armour and enchant it really.
My paladin has mining and blacksmithing so he can make his own weapons and armour.
It's up to you at the end of the day, herbalism is good for making money if you feel like running around picking flowers. Same with leatherworking and mining you could farm those for money.
Like I said it comes down to preferance there is no right or wrong professions just some are better for certain things e.g. herbalism for making money. Also if you took enchanting you can break down the items you find. Greens, blues etc. and then you can sell the dust or shards you get from that.
Hope this has helped you out a bit : ) |

I agree. Some people take gathering professions early on to make some money and then finalise on a pair of professions to suit themselves later.
Engineering looks the most fun, but due to the fact that only an engineer can use most of the good gadgets you make, it's not a great money spinner. |

Engineering is the funniest proffesion imho I have engineering with my orc hunter almost 300 in goblin engineering it's completely insane haha.
Like Tor said tho engineering doesn't really make money as it's only normally the engineer himself who can use the stuff : ) |

thanks for your comments
i also use blacksmith and mining for my paladin so i can make myself armour, but then again recently i just been flogging all the copper and that for cash. i allready had like 50 gold and im only level 31
20 copper bars sell for 1g, easy money only takes 15mins to mine 20 copper ore, takes even less to time flog it easy money!
i will tell him to use tailoring and enchanting atleast he get the most use out of it then
thanks again

Do not do herbs and alchemy. My priest did and if you go holy spec you are stuffed for farming as it is hard to move around the high level zones without fighting and as a holy priest you suck killing stuff.
If you want cash go mining and skinning.
Tailoring and enchanting is a good combo and there are some good high level robes for priests adn if you just sell high level shards you'll recoup cash.
After a while at 60 my hunter swapped mining for leatherworking - cos I was bored. Did 0-60 leatherworking in just over a week for <100g. Did not make much cash and dragonscale was not a good specialisation. |

Well as a priest I can recomend mining, skinning and herbalist and when you get to raid levels then skinning is still usefull.. and enchanting or alchemy is ideal a farming char like a hunter can provide the herbs priests who are holy can fight and farm but they are so slow its not realy worth it .. so a farmer alt is a great way to make money which you need if your raiding
