Hey, was directed to here by Hellblazer
Basically, from what i have heard, SPS is alot like <The> in the way that you have more than enough people for 10mans, but lack the raid balance/numbers for consistent 25mans.. now if that is correct im sure you know how annoying that can be!
But from speaking to one of our guildies "Zang" who is friends with a member named Applepie it would appear that you guys may not mind the possibility of joint 25man raids!
Now just a little history of THG 1 of the oldest if not the oldest guild on terenas, at level 60 we were doing the small time raids like ZG and UBRS etc we sometimes went to MC alongside others but nothing to major back then!
then TBC came out and we Steamrolled kara, got to gruul completed that and we were about to begin in SSC but unfortunately had a few key members leave which as im sure you can understand, set us back quite a bit hehe And now in WotlK we have completed naxx10/25 Uld10 at yogg saron, ToC10 completed/farmed, ToC25 4/5, ICC were at Deathbringer Saurfang.. so our progression isnt too bad and we have experienced raiders etc..
It would be awesome to hear some feedback on what you as a guild think about the proposal.. you could also check our website out www.thg-guild.eu and feel free to make an account and post into our forums etc
Thanks alot and hope to hear from you soon!

Yes I agree Smithy.
To be honest I'm rather disappointed in the lack of responses too.
I didn't want to add to this post as I thought it might seem too much like I was promoting it directly. For that I apologise to you and THG.
I hate wasting anyone's time and I think I did yours.
In all honesty I am surprised that nobody saw fit to at least acknowledge this post. We are usually verbose to the point of distraction!
Again - please accept my personal apologies and please note that if you are ever short a DPS in a raid that I am not locked in to then I would be only too happy to lend a hand.

I have posted on your boards in what I hope is the correct place.
If not, I apologise and please delete the post or move it as you see fit.

Crap, missed this one somehow
Gawd knows how we'd work it, but I for one would certainly be interested in having a crack at some 25-man action. I'll pop over to your boards. |

O god im not completely sure how i missed this :S Guess i have been kind of preoccupied lately and i mustn't have looked properly :S
I'm Sorry i havent posted before however the idea of a joint 25 man run sounds good to me, as Messi has said I'm not totally sure how we would organise it or even who would run the nights
Sorry again for our lack of response

Hi Smithey, sorry for not responding sooner, I think it is a good idea and would be happy to provide Feral Druid DPS or Healing for any joint venture.
Our Predominant raiding evenings are 8-11pm UK time on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Perhaps you can let us know what evenings or times you are looking at and we can see what we can do?
regards

Hiya all again, glad we've had a promising flood of responses now!
And the idea generally seems to be popular.. so now we could discuss possible ways of working it
On our website if you make an account there is a raid calendar, where all our raids are scheduled.. if ya go to that and make a separate account for it it enables you to sign for our raids.. so if we discuss a bit more about possibly when / where (I'd be thinking something easy to see how it goes but that's purely up to the majority) then maybe we could post a raid on there and you could alert all your guildies that's it there and ready for sign ups Or if SPS use a similar sort of raid system maybe we could also use that and see which benefits us more
Now i think probably the biggest questions would be things like.. Who would raid lead our of the 2x guilds, who would be loot master etc and how would loot work...
In THG we have a Unique loot system, that once you understand it, it works for all and you will find it to be a very fair system, so i will explain
Each raid member is assigned 1x "Need" roll per raid.. and if with that need roll that member wins the loot, anything that drops that they need from there on they only have the "Want" roll choice (so other needers that missed out on 1st bit, no have less competition for the item)
However, if your like me and scan allll the possible drops from a raid and make a priority list.. lets say the item thats bottom of your priority list drops.. you DO need it, but you would prefer to save your Need roll for another item, thats fine.. "Need" rollers will get the opportunity to roll 1st, if there are no "Need" rolls it then goes to "Want" rolls, where you have the chance to win it free of charge as it were
"Need" rolls cannot be for offspecs
"Want" rolls can be used for offspecs, and if someone needed the item but had already won something or chose to save there need roll, then in the Want rolls they will be rolling against possible offspec rolls etc.. and in the Want roll period, if the Offspec roller wins the roll over the person that needed it but chose to want roll, then thats bad luck ^^
So far this is the best looting system we have found that works well for us but feel free to suggest alternatives
Raid Leading / Loot Master
Now i think, probably the best way to deal with this would be taking it in turns.. Lets say for example Week1 -- ToC10 raid... Hellblazer Raid Leads -- Smithey Loot Masters and then switch it around next week possibly..
Feel free to add/change anything i have put there as it is all only guidelines
Thanks!

Hey Smithey,
I've not replied to this thread yet as the Tank I have on this server isn't (well, level 80 yet, but also) geared to raid-level content yet. Soon as he is, I'm there |

Sounds like a loot system along the same lines as ours!
As to leading, I am sure our most oft raid leader will be happy to take time off
Where......I'd suggest Uld 25 or ToC 25 to start....ICC-25 maybe a bit heavy for a trial |

Raid loot sounds very similar to our own
Usually for Raid signups we have a thread in our event planning section on the boards which those interested sign up to. This raid calender might be a more convenient way of both of our guilds being able to sign up together. Might be an idea to make a 'sub'thread here so some people can post up if they cant figure out your raid calender thing. Is it possible to sign up a group of people from one account or have we all got to sign up individually? (Did that make sense :S)
I like the idea of taking it in turns of you leading/us Mlooting and then switching it. Seems a nice way of keeping the work load even It might be worth compiling a list of possible raid leaders, Those with suitable experience of both the raid and of running groups That way we can almost sort a rota lmao Do you tend to have 1 specific raid leader - or is there a few that takes it in turns?
Seems to me like a good idea although we're would have to sort the fine details.

Hmm, could get to register for the raid calendar. Hit the register button and was told "you cannot access this file". Will try later in case is just a server bork. |

I had the same problem yesterday but after speaking to Aase the permissions were granted and I had access - thanks Aase!

Great to see so much enthusiasm. To try to keep this going I have put ToC 25 up on our raid calendar for the next couple of weeks. Seems like the right sort of place to try this out. I have also given all the SPS guys, that have signed up to this site, the privileges they need to use the raid calendar.
N.B. The calendar is a separate application with its own login. You dont need to register for it separately, just use the same username and password. You will then need to create a character to sign up with, your character name can be the same as your username, but does not need to be. You can also have many characters if you have raiding alts, but I would ask that you only sign up to a raid with one character so we can see what numbers we have. |
