The AI for NPC ships is tough now. They have all the weapons and abilities now, be very careful. I would prepare to run if the NPC is a combat rank or two above you.
I've had my thrusters completely destroyed and had to self destruct to get out of it. Our first couple of evenings cost me well over a million credits for a couple of insurance claims. I also lost some cargo and various bounties that we were going to hand in to the Engineer, who's 100k worth of bounties.
